Kratom, scientifically known as Mitragyna speciosa, is a tropical evergreen tree native to Southeast Asia, particularly in Thailand, Indonesia, and Malaysia. Kratom Species

These species are typically categorized by the color of the vein on the leaves- red, green, white- although other strains exist as well. Each strain has a unique alkaloid profile and can cause different effects.

Different Colours, Different Effects

Red Vein Kratom

Red vein kratom has been known to be popular among those seeking pain relief or help with insomnia. In larger doses, red vein strains can have a sedative effect on the user. Pain relief is due to red vein strains containing larger amounts of mitragynine alkaloids compared to other strains

Green Vein Kratom

Green vein kratom, on the other hand, is usually preferred by users for its mental clarity and energy boost properties. The alkaloid profile of green vein strains is generally less potent than red veins, but has more mitragynine than white vein strains. Green vein strains seem to be ideal for those with moderate pain or want an energy boost

White Vein Kratom

White vein kratom has the most energizing effects in comparison with other strains. It is preferred by people in need of a quick boost of energy or alertness without having to deal with jitters or anxiety that comes with caffeine or other stimulants. Additionally, traditional medicine uses white vein strains as an antidepressant and a way to help regulate mood and focus

Red, Gold and Green?

Apart from these primary vein colors, kratom is further subdivided into subtypes like yellow, gold, and dark green. Each of these subtypes may offer unique benefits to users, such as the yellow and gold subtype having both relaxing and energizing effects.
